Ingredients
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 8-inch or 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, combine the white cake mix, water, oil, egg whites, and cotton candy extract. Mix until smooth.
- Divide the batter evenly between two bowls. Add pink food coloring to one bowl and blue to the other, mixing until the colors are evenly blended.
- Alternate spoonfuls of pink and blue batter into each cake pan to create a marbled or layered effect. Swirl gently with a knife if desired.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool completely.
- For the frosting, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Add the milk and cotton candy extract, then beat until fluffy. Add food coloring if desired.
- Frost the cooled cakes, stacking and covering the sides and top. Decorate with sprinkles and top with cotton candy right before serving.
