Crazy Dough – The Soft & Fluffy Dough That Does It All
Crazy Dough is a soft, fluffy, all-purpose yeast dough that can be used for almost anything—pizza crusts, bread rolls, cinnamon buns, flatbreads, or savory pockets. It’s easy to make, beginner-friendly, and incredibly versatile for sweet or savory bakes.
Ingredients
Method
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for about 5 to 10 minutes until foamy.
- Add the yogurt, egg, and oil or melted butter. Whisk until smooth.
- Stir in the flour and salt gradually, mixing with a wooden spoon or dough hook until a soft dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead by hand for about 5 to 7 minutes until smooth and elastic. (Or knead with a stand mixer dough hook for 3 to 4 minutes.)
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel or plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm place for 1 to 1 ½ hours, or until doubled in size.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and use it for your desired recipe—pizza crust, cinnamon rolls, dinner rolls, flatbreads, calzones, or savory buns.
- For baking, shape as needed, let rise again for 20 to 30 minutes (depending on the recipe), then bake according to your specific dish’s instructions (typically 375–400°F).
