Ingredients
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet (about 10x15 inches) with parchment paper or foil and lightly grease.
- Arrange graham crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, breaking them as needed to cover the surface fully.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil and let it cook for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring constantly until thickened slightly.
- Pour the hot caramel mixture evenly over the graham crackers and spread with a spatula to cover.
- Bake for 7 to 8 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbly and has soaked into the crackers slightly.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top. Let sit for a few minutes to melt, then spread evenly with a spatula.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts and a pinch of sea salt over the melted chocolate, if using.
- Let cool at room temperature, then refrigerate until set. Once firm, break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
